Ready to get back home!September 11 How we metI will start from the beginning to explain how we got here. I was living in an apartment in Texas when I met my future hubby ( I will call him Mr. Yenner from now on). He was married but it was a horrible situation. His wife was an alcoholic and addicted to any pills she could get her hands on. He was in the process of finding a new place to go to leave her and start the divorce process and we became friends. She came to my apartment a few times and stole my prescription allergy pills and anything else I had in my medicine cabinet. I had a get together of some of the people in the apartment complex and discovered later on that she had taken my phone and called her daughter in Colorado and talked to her for 2.5 hours. (This was 10 years ago and long distance was more expensive) It ended up costing me about $30. I asked her about it and she denied it and was some what threatening to me so I paid it and made sure she never got in my apartment again.
Mr. Yenner started coming over and we talked a lot about what he was going through and I helped him to move out finally. His ex started threatening me and following me around and made me very nervous. She didn't realize that we weren't dating in the beginning but, because of her, we started getting closer and eventually, got married.
We came to South Carolina on our honeymoon so I could meet his family (I will talk about that another time). It was in October so the weather was beautiful and we were able to go to the beach and it wasn't very crowded. I had said that I wouldn't mind living there. We spent a week here and had a blast.
When we got back his ex had damaged our house and caused us so many problems. We called the police but they weren't any help. We realized that the only she was going to stop was if we left. We decided to move here. It was more out of deseration than really wanting to be here. Even after we moved here, she managed to get our phone #. She called and harassed us for about a year or so but finally gave up. We haven't heard from her in several years.
So, that is how we got here. It wasn't the best way to start off a marriage but it hasn't been too bad. September 08 IntroWell, I have lurked and really enjoyed so many other people's blogs and figured it was time for me to start writing down some of my thoughts. I doubt that it will be much but it will be good to get some of my thoughts written down.
As you can see from the title of my blog, I am not exactly happy with my situation right now. I am living in South Carolina but am a Texan at heart. When my husband and I got married, we came here so that I could meet his family (no, I did not meet any of his family before we got married but that will have to be explained another time). I really enjoyed it and my husband and I decided that we would move here. I thought that I would have no problems being away from my family. Well, I was wrong. I miss them more than I could have ever thought. I get to see them about twice a year but it just isn't enough.
My husband has seen how hard this has been on me (it has only taken 7 years!) and we are in the process of working to get back to Texas. It has not been easy but we will be there some time within the next couple of years I hope. We had to sell our house first but that took forever and we did not make enough off of it to move right away so we are renting for now and putting as much money away as possible. I can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel!
